You wouldn't immediately think of a little Thai island when contemplating "trekking," but for those mortals who don't need Everest or Anapurna-level challenges and can enjoy a good scramble up and down a hill with some cliffs and varying terrain along the way -- and a big Ocean View payoff for your efforts, then Koh Ra is actually better than most of the islands in the area (which are just flat and sandy). To make it even better, after your foray into the Thai jungle and up and down a decent hill, you get to go swimming in the salty blue Andaman.
